Thrown and turned stoneware reduction plate in a very textured, iron-rich clay body with iron resist patterning. A celebration of iron!

This plate is un-glazed and has a dry but slightly metallic sheen to the surface. Use the image zoom to see the wonderful blistery, crackly, varied surface. At first look it might not seem practical but the clay is fully vitrified, non-porous and is easy to wash. Having said that it is probably best suited to drier foods - toast, pastries, etc. rather than sauces or stews.
