Thrown from a textured stoneware clay with a turned foot and with a my “Scrub-ash” glaze.

The ash for this glaze was collected after areas of scrub were cleared on a small nature reserve near Felmersham in Bedfordshire, to encourage the development of wildflower meadows. The ash will be mostly made up of Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Elder and other organic material.

These small teabowls (Chawan) are equally useful as a small side dish serving pickles or sauces.

Each one is individual and unique. The bowl you receive may not be the ones featured in the images.
