A small Shino-glazed Yokode (side-handle teapot) made using a wild clay from my Mum’s garden.
The finish on the Shino glaze is very dependant on thickness of application and shows lovely variation from semi-matt rusty red through to gloss white. Inclusions in the clay body speckle and melt in the firing, adding further interest to the surface.
This teapot holds 320ml and is designed for small quick brews of tea.
