Thrown from a Scottish native stoneware clay blend with white slip and an Oak and Acacia ash glaze.
When it was freshly thrown I gently squashed the vase to distort the form.
The finish on the dry glaze is very dependent on thickness of application and shows lovely, subtle variations in texture and colour. Inclusions in the clay body speckle and melt in the firing, adding further interest to the surface.
